GETTING TO KNOW MS. MORIAH
Hello! My name is Moriah Beardslee, but I prefer to be called Ms. Moriah. I was born and raised in the Phoenix Valley of Arizona, where I am studying for my ECE degree with ASU at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. I proudly am set to graduate in May 2024.
When I am not studying for my degree or working with young children at my church, I love to spend my free time reading various genres of books, such as action, thriller, and fantasy, watching Disney movies, singing/dancing with my little siblings, and generally just enjoying life with my friends and family.
Currently, I love watching Miraculous Ladybug and Once Upon a Time with my little sister.
I am also a major fan of the outdoors when it's not too hot outside. This means you may find me dancing in the rain, climbing trees, or hiking mountains when the temperature outside is nice.
I have worked with children in Head Start. I have been the primary teacher for children in Kindergarten-1st grade at my church, Living Word Mesa, since 2018. I have been an on-call nanny/childcare provider with Lullaby Guild since May 2023, and have been volunteering with children throughout my whole life. I am so excited to be one of the teachers for the [insert grade] program at [insert school] this year!
My passion is to set up my classroom and go about teaching in ways that are welcoming and fun for the children in my classroom. I am always open to suggestions in making the classroom being more enjoyable, will often grab the attention of students by making silly noises and the like. I also recognize that not every child is built the same, so I understand that flexibility with my teaching practices is key. If you have any suggestions on how I can best support your child, my door is always open!
